AI Assistant (TARS): Converse with Your Data
TARS is Arkham's platform-wide AI Assistant, providing a powerful conversational interface that allows any user to interact with enterprise data using natural language. For builders, it serves as a rapid data exploration and validation tool, deeply integrated with the Arkham Data Platform.
How It Works: From Language to Insight
TARS translates natural language questions into precise, executable queries by leveraging the platform's underlying semantic layer. This architecture allows it to understand business context and return accurate results without requiring the user to write any code.
The process is as follows:
- Natural Language Processing: TARS first parses the user's plain-language question to identify key intents, entities, and metrics.
- Semantic Translation: It then consults the Ontology, which maps business terms like "sales" or "churn" to specific data objects and metrics in the Lakehouse. This is the crucial step that allows TARS to understand the user's intent in the context of your business.
- Query Generation & Execution: A formal SQL query is constructed and run against the Data Lakehouse, ensuring performance and security rules are applied.
- Formatted Response: TARS returns the answer in the most appropriate format, whether a single number, a table, or an auto-generated visualization.
How It Accelerates Your Workflow
For a technical champion, TARS is more than a convenience—it's a productivity tool:
- Rapid Data Exploration: Perform quick data validation and sanity checks on Gold or Silver tables without breaking your flow to write a full SQL query or script.
- Democratize Data Access: Empower your business stakeholders to self-serve on the data products you build. When they can answer their own basic questions, it frees up your team to focus on more complex challenges.
- Increase Trust in Dat: By providing a simple, consistent way to query curated data assets, you increase the organization's overall trust and literacy in the data you manage.
- Prototype Analytics: Quickly test hypotheses and explore relationships in the data before committing to building out a full dashboard or data pipeline.
